In all, 54 companies participated in the placement event of which 18 were new recruiters. As high as 20 per cent of students have been given extension from their summer internship organisations.
The consulting area showed a substantial increase to 38 per cent in terms of number of students foraying in this field and demonstrating the rich consulting acumen, said XIMB here. It said three students bagged coveted international management profiles with the highest international package increasing to USD 40,750 per annum offered by a leading market research firm.
“The elections, besides the slow down, have also affected the placements as many major companies are now in the ‘wait and watch’ mode. There have been no major investments recently and many industries are waiting for the elections to be over. This has brought down the number of jobs in the manufacturing and marketing segments. The situation is expected to change next year,” said Saveeta Mohanty placement coordinator XIMB. Similarly, 55 candidates of PGDM in Rural Management programme also made outstanding performance. In all, 24 companies participated in the campus recruitment process in the segment. Highest domestic salary stood at Rs.11.1 lakhs per annum while highest international salary stood at USD 40,000 per annum
