CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda who was “scheduled” to be present at the time of filing of nomination papers by two former Congress Ministers, Venod Sharma and Nirmal Singh, from the Ambala City and Ambala Cantt. constituencies on Thursday could not make it.

According to sources in the party, Mr. Hooda was preoccupied in New Delhi with the task of finalising the remaining 22 out of 90 candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections. The Congress had released the first list of 68 candidates on Wednesday. The last date for filing nomination papers is Friday. However, Haryana Congress unit president Phool Chand Mullana was present.
