Presidential warrants of appointment of two more judges in Orissa High Court reached the High Court registry here on Wednesday. The court sources confirmed that the two new judges would take oath on Friday morning.

The High Court register general J. P. Das said that judge-designate Debabrata Das would take oath as permanent judge while judge-designate Satrughna Pujahari would take oath as additional judge of the High Court.

Both Mr. Das and Mr. Pujahari are elevated to the bench of the High Court from service cadre. Prior to his new appointment, Mr. Das was working as District and Sessions Judge of Ganjam while Mr. Pujahari was the Principal Secretary of State law department.

With the elevation of Mr. Das and Mr. Pujahari to the bench, the strength of judges of Orissa High Court would go up to 17, including that of the Chief Justice. The sanctioned strength of the judges in the HC is 22, including five additional judges.
