Two Maoists involved in violence in Malkangiri district and adjoining Chhattisgarh were arrested by security forces from Mathili police station.

According to Malkangiri district police, the arrested Maoists were Anda Majhi (27) and Mangaraj Durua (25). Mangaraj is a resident of Mohupadar village and Anda is from Guruguja village in Mathili police station limits. But they were part of the Darava division of outlawed CPI (Maoist) organisation, which is active in Chhattisgarh and Malkangiri district.

Both of them were nabbed by the personnel of District Voluntary Force (DVF) during combing operation in jungles near Mohupadar village. The security personnel raided the jungle following a tip-off that the Naxalites were meeting in the area. During the raid on the Maoist meeting camp, the two were arrested while others managed to escape. No arms were seized.
