Two hardcore Maoists involved in several murders were arrested from Narayanpatna block in Koraput district on Monday.

The arrest came a day after Maoist mayhem at Kumbhariput village in Bandhugaon block Saturday night. The Maoists had killed two persons alleging them to be police informers and set ablaze at least five vehicles of a construction firm at this village. This Maoist violence had followed arrest of five hardcore Maoists in Bandhugaon block.

The two Maoists arrested on Monday were Nabin Praska and Sana Wateka. According to police sources, they were nabbed from Dumbaguda area under Narayanpatna police station limits during an operation based onintelligence reports by Koraput district police. “These two were planning some major violence in the area,” the Koraput SP Awinash Kumar said.

Both these naxalites were in the most wanted list of ultras of the area. They were members of Narayanpatna area committee of Srikakulam Koraput Divisional Committee ( SKDC) of Andhra Orissa Border Zonal Committee (AOBSZC) of outlawed CPI (Maoist) organisation.

 Nabina had aroudn 25 cases related to Maoist violence pending against him. They included at least 10 murder cases.Sana was also involved in at least three murders.
