Patna: The Bihar Government will constitute a tribunal to deal with the growing number of university disputes -- mostly related to retirement dues and promotion.

“The proposed body would be on the lines of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and facilitate the solving of university disputes,” Anjani Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, State Human Resource Development, said on Wednesday.

The three-member tribunal will be headed by a retired or sitting judge, he said, adding the file related to the proposal for the tribunal has already been sent to the State law department and the process has begun.

State HRD Minister Harinarain Singh had earlier announced that the State Government would soon set up the tribunal, for quick disposal of cases. -- PTI
