VISAKHAPATNAM: ETASI – Timpany School Parents Association has appealed to the school management to abide by the directions of the District Education Officer and revoke its decision on hiking the school fee.

It may be recalled that the school management had announced an 85 per cent increase in the annual school fee for its CBSE students this year (2009-10) compared to last year. While the fee collected from each student (Std. I to III) was Rs.9,900 last year this year it has been increased to 18,250, the hike for students from Std. IV to VI was from 10,200 (last year) to Rs.18,850 this year.

Addressing a media conference here on Wednesday, association president C. Bala Satish and vice president Y.N. Rao said that the school was making huge profits. .

The Governing body was the ultimate authority to fix the fee structure of students and pay scales of teachers. They said that the DEO had sent a notice to the school management not to collect excess fee until further orders and also directed them to submit the accounts of the school for the last two years by June 5.

The management was warned of severe action including de-recognition, if they collect excess fee.

The association leaders said that they would file a caveat in the High Court on Thursday .
