Dehra Dun: A tigress was found dead on Wednesday in Sarpduli range of the Jim Corbett National Park, the second death of a big cat in the Reserve in less than four days.

The carcass of a tigress was found flowing in Ramganga river in the Park, Director of the Tiger Reserve Kapil Joshi said.

The cause of the death could be ascertained only through post-mortem, he said.

This is the second striped cat found dead in the Park within four days.

On December 13, an eight-year-old male tiger was found dead in Dhikala range. The post-mortem revealed it died of respiratory and cardio-vascular problems.
