Some timeless short stories of renowned Odia authors would come alive on television screen through a series of telefilms produced by ‘Heritage Media’, a production house of Berhampur. This series of telefilms have been compiled together under the name ‘A Katha Rahiba Chira Kalaku (this story would remain for time immemorial)’. They are to be telecast by the Bhubaneswar Doordarshan Kendra from February 8, at 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Golak Tripathy has directed as well as written the screenplay and dialogues of this series. According to him he has made all possible efforts to keep alive the essence and authenticity of the short stories which can be remembered by any person interested in Odia literature.

Some of the stories included in the series were ‘Sariputta’ by Surendra Mohanty, ‘Mini ra Sahitya Shikshya’ by Bama Charan Mitra and ‘Babu Bathroom re Achhanti’ by Pratibha Roy, who has been recently selected for Jnanpith award. All these authors have mass following in both rural and urban Odisha.
