Software major Tata Consultancy Service will employee 4,000 personnel at its Bhubaneswar development centre in the next three months.
TCS Chief Executive Officer N. Chandrasekharan on Friday met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Secretariat and discussed the company’s expansion plan in Bhubaneswar.
Mr. Chandrasekharan informed that TCS had a strength of 1,000 employees in Bhubaneswar and that the company dealt with 20 clients. The ongoing expansion of the centre was likely to be completed in the next two to three months.
“Upon completion of expansion, 4,000 persons could be employed in the centre,” the TCS CEO told Mr. Patnaik.
Mr. Chandrasekharan informed the Chief Minister that the company was also planning a second phase of expansion, which was to be completed by 2015-16. After the second phase of expansion, the headcount could go beyond 10,000, he said.
Aditya Prasad Padhi, Principal Secretary, and other senior executives of the TCS were present.
