Supporters and devotees made a beeline for the Kalighat residence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday morning to receive prasad from her a day after Kali Puja celebrations.

Taking time off from her busy schedule, the Chief Minister devoted herself to the worship of Goddess Kali at her residence being observed for the past 34 years.

Some of her Cabinet colleagues, party MP, MLAs, councillors as also Union Ministers like Mukul Roy attended the puja which was witnessed by hundreds of devotees.

The Chief Minister herself supervised the arrangements for the puja.

Ms Banerjee joined hands with others, including State Assembly Deputy Speaker Sonali Guha, in preparing prasad packets for distribution among the devotees. - PTI
