BHUBANESWAR: The State Cabinet on Friday gave its nod to a proposal for creation of two new cadres of State government employees.
It also gave its go ahead to provide bloc grant to more than 700 colleges in the State.
The new cadres will be the Orissa Revenue Service (ORS) and Orissa Taxation and Accounts Service (OTAS).
The Cabinet also approved a proposal to accord Junior Class-I status to Orissa Administrative Service (OAS) and Orissa Engineering Service (OES) officers at entry- level.
The decision to give bloc grant to the colleges would be beneficial for 8,700 persons working in teaching and non-teaching posts of 480 Plus-II colleges and 257 degree colleges.
The Cabinet also decided to hike the fees and remuneration of Advocate General, Standing Counsel and Public Prosecutors.
It was also decided to provide three acre land for free to a central government agency for establishment of a software technology park at Berhampur.
