Puducherry: Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will be on a visit to Puducherry on January 20 to see for himself the extent of work done for rehabilitation of tsunami hit villagers here.

An official source told The Hindu here on Thursday that Mr. Patil, who would arrive in the forenoon of Saturday, would visit (according to a tentative programme) the Moorthy Pudukuppam and Veerampattinam villages, which are among the tsunami-hit hamlets here. He might listen to the views and suggestions of the local panchayats and their leaders.

Mr Patil would have a meeting with Lt Governor Mukut Mithi and also Chief Minister N Rangasamy at Rajnivas before wrapping up his visit to the Union Territory in the afternoon, the source said. Special Correspondent.
