Rourkela: To empower village women with necessary skills and resources to start their own small ventures, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has launched a scheme to impart sewing and embroidery training to them in periphery areas. Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme, the RSP has provided a 45-day long training programme to the participants in batches of 20 each, RSP sources said here today.
Each of the participants were provided with sewing machines at the end of the programme. O.P Agarwal, director medical and health services of RSP attended the programme as the chief guest and presented the machines here yesterday. The 20 trainees were drawn from Santoshpur, Bondamunda, Jhandapahad, Jarbeda, Kacharu, Rium, Mandap and Khuntaon village. - PTI
