East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Saturday said it had carried 108.19 million tonnes of freight by registering a growth of 10.8 per cent in its originating freight loading in the current financial year from April 2012 to January 2013 as against 97.62 million tonnes loaded during the corresponding period of last financial year. During January 2013, ECoR has loaded 12.66 million tonnes of freight as against 10.46 million tonnes loaded during January 2012, which is 21.1 per cent more than that of last year, ECoR said in a statement. ECoR is on course for overhauling the budgetary target of 130 million tonnes during the financial year by a handsome margin, it said.
