JAIPUR: BITSAT-2010, the online entrance test for admission to BITS Pilani and its campuses in Goa and Hyderabad, received a record 139,000 applications this year for 2,000 seats, which is 13 per cent more than last year.

This year the Institute has opened a new BITSAT centre at Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh in addition to the 20 centres which exist in different cities of the country.

“We have been seeing a trend of increase in the number of applicants appearing in BITSAT every year since its introduction. We hope this increase in number of candidates will help us to admit high quality students to our campuses,” said Prof. S. Gurunarayanan, Dean, Admissions, BITS Pilani.

The BITSAT test begins on May 10 as per the original announcement.

The test will be conducted over a period of four weeks at different centres and the schedule depends on the number of candidates registered in a particular centre, Prof. Gurunarayanan informed.
