JAIPUR: A ruling party resolution suspending a Congress MLA from the House led to noisy scenes in the Rajasthan Assembly on Monday. An agitated Opposition disrupted the proceedings thereafter leading to three adjournments. Normalcy was restored only after the two groups met in the chamber of Deputy Speaker Ram Narayan Bishnoi and reached a settlement to withdraw the resolution. The contentious issue came up during Question Hour when in a supplementary to his question Congress MLA Bharat Singh alleged the hand of the then Urban Development Minister Pratapsingh Singhvi in nominating a male in the post of chairperson reserved for women belonging to the backward communities in Kota district’s Sangod municipality a few months back. The post is reserved for OBC women , he charged.
