JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has assured farmers that his government would take all steps to reduce the gap between demand and supply in the power sector to provide sufficient electricity to the rural and agricultural consumers. He said power purchase agreements had already been signed for this year's rabi crops. Addressing a huge gathering at Raisar village in Bikaner district after inaugurating a 400-KV power grid sub-station, Mr. Gehlot said the State would become self-sufficient in power production in the near future with the completion of six ongoing projects. “An approval for five new power plants has already been made for the next Five Year Plan,” he added.
The Chief Minister said the computerised grid sub-station at Raisar would facilitate an unhindered supply of quality electricity in Bikaner and Nagaur districts.
