Santoor maestro Pandit Bhajan Sopari will be the star attraction

The Department of Tourism in association with Bhubaneswar Music Circle shall host its three-day annual Rajarani national music festival on the lawns of the Rajarani temple in the City commencing on January 18.

The inaugural evening shall feature Odissi vocal recital by Dhiraj Mohapatra, Hindustani vocal recital by Neenal Datai and percussion ensemble by Vidwan Peravali Jaya Bhaskar and this troupe, the hosts informed.

Hindustani vocalist Krushna Chandra Sahoo, Odissi singer Mohapatra Minati Bhanja and veteran Hindustani musician and vocalist Raja Kale, senior disciple of Pandit Jitendra Abhiseki are slated to perform during the second evening of the festival, they added.

The concluding evening of the festival would feature thumri and ghazal recital by Ustad Irshad Khan and Irfan Ahmed Khan while the star attraction of the event – Santoor maestro Pandit Bhajan Sopari – would be the final performer of the festival, it was learnt.
