As American led forces are gearing up for probable military strike against Syria, CPI (M-L) Liberation said India should position itself against the naked display of hegemony by United States of America.
CPI (M-L) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said the party would observe national protest day registering its opposition to the proposed unjust attack on Monday. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Bhattacharya said, “CPI (M-L) Liberation members would stage agitation all over the country. US President Barack Obama has stepped into shoes of George Bush. Syria is going to be attacked for no reason.” “As far as India is concerned, the government should not repeat the mistake as it had done in case of attack on Iraq and Iran. After Iraq war, the world came to know that there were no weapons of mass destruction. India should show it is an independent country and it can take decisions independently,” CPI (M-L) Liberation General Secretary said.
Mr. Bhattacharya also came down heavily on the Congress and the BJP over passage of Land Acquisition Bill in Lok Sabha. The CPI (M-L) Liberation would stage demonstration in New Delhi requesting President of Indian not to grant his assent to the bill.
“The Congress and the BJP have shown that they could go to any extent for helping corporate. While both the principal parties have confronted on all other issues, they agreed on acquisition bill. There is a huge difference in the bill drafted in 2011 and 2013 bill that got Lok Sabha’s consent,” he said. “Corporate groups are now in much better position to corner huge chunk of land in their favour while the bill has failed to give complete protection to agricultural land, which would have ensured food security of the country. Corporate world stands to gain from the clause of land transfer,” the CPI (M-L) Liberation leader said.
