President Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the new integrated terminal of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here on January 20, said Saugata Roy, Trinamool Congress MP and chairperson of the Airport Advisory Committee, on Thursday.

The operational run from the new terminal on which work started in 2008 will start from January 23 but it would take another two months for the facility to be fully operational, he added.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor M. K. Narayanan are also likely to be present during the inauguration, Mr Roy said

Airport Director B. P. Sharma said that the new terminal is the only airport facility to have been developed by the Airports Authority of India.

Mr Sharma said that the total modernisation cost of the airport is Rs. 2300 crore and the Centre has also sanctioned about Rs. 240 crore for the construction of a new air traffic control at the new terminal.
