JAIPUR: Rajasthan Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhulal Saini on Thursday said the cattle breeders in the State would be associated with the Government's schemes for improvement of breeds and enhancing the productivity of livestock. Inaugurating a three-day workshop on "Action plan for breed improvement of native cows'' at the National Institute of Agricultural Marketing here, Mr. Saini said the State Cattle Development Board would launch a campaign to extend the benefits of fertilisation projects for cows and buffalos initiated in 1998.

Mr. Saini said the State had a population of 1.08-crore cows and 1.04-crore buffaloes. The Government has introduced several schemes for cattle insurance, artificial insemination and improvement of breeds, he added.
