CHANDIGARH: The tie-up between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian National Lok Dal in Haryana to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections jointly is giving “sleepless nights” to the ruling Congress, the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Haryana Janhit Congress, said Rajiv Jain, media coordinator of the Haryana unit of the BJP, on Tuesday.
In a statement, Mr. Jain asserted that not only the party cadres of both the BJP and the INLD had welcomed the “alliance” but the people too were happy over the political development as a potent BJP-INLD alliance could provide a clear and decisive alternative to the ruling Congress in the State.
Ridiculing “criticism” of the “alliance” by leaders of other parties, he said it was a historic fact that whenever the BJP had entered into an alliance with other parties in Haryana, the Congress and other parties had been decimated in the polls. Even now, history would repeat itself, he asserted.
Describing the “alliance” as “natural”, he charged that leaders of other parties were now feeling jittery and they were raising baseless doubts as to whether this “marriage” between the BJP and the INLD would last.
