Protesting against steep hike in school fee, parents of DAV public schools across the State have announced plan to stage agitation in front of the schools in their respective areas on Wednesday.

The resentment over school fee hike increased when parents were handed over monthly tuition fee with a hike of 200 per cent to 300 per cent.

“For a general middle class family, affording such an exorbitant school fee is impossible. DAV school managements manipulated government instructions and presented court order that would suit them,” alleged Sanjukta Mohapatra, convenor of All Odisha DAVians Parents Coordination Committee here on Monday.

Ms Mohapatra said, “the interim committee set up with court order has not given its decision. However, school managements presented facts to justify fee hike. ”

Meanwhile, management of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur denied the charge. It said: “We want to clarify that the decision of fee hike has been taken as per order of interim committee as ordered by Supreme Court. The allegation that income expenditure statement was not submitted to Interim Committee is not true,” Debendra Kumar Pati on behalf of the school said.
