The FMT doctors examined the Pipili gang-rape and murder victim after more than five days of her admission in SCB Medical College and Hospital. This was disclosed by a senior resident of the Hospital Birendra Xalxo on Saturday while facing cross examination before Justice P.K. Mohanty Commission here.

Xalxo said his department got a requisition for examining the victim on December 4, 2011 after two days of her admission in the Hospital. But he could not examine the victim until December 7 for he was not allowed by the PG students of the Medicine department to examine the victim under the pretext that the condition of the patient was very critical.

However, after examining the victim, Xalxo in his report had indicated that there was a ligature mark on the right neck of the victim. But he had not made any effort to find out whether the mark was due to strangulation or due to hanging.

With the conclusion of the cross examination of Xalxo, the Commission has completed the examination and cross examination of all the witnesses. The Commission however has not yet taken any decision about the pending petitions before it, which have sought cross examination of some more persons including the former minister and Pipili legislator Pradip Kumar Maharathi and former Pipili police inspector Amulya Kumar Champatiray, the disgraced and dismissed police officer.
