They take part in 35 events in two days

District level special Olympic games for physically challenged children and community coaches training for promotion of sports and games for physically challenged, organised by Koraput Farmers’ Association (KFA) and district administration with the support of Special Olympics Bharat, New Delhi, came to an end on Saturday at Koraput.

While children from the school for mentally challenged, Manas, school for the blind, Drishti at Koraput, and school for the deaf and dumb at Sunabeda took part in more than 35 athletic and sports events over the last two days, fourteen coaches from the blocks in the district were trained on the need and scope of promotion of sports and games among children with disabilities in their respective areas. Yamini Sarangi, district Collector and Samarth Verma , Sub-collector of Koraput encouraged children during the event. The selected students would now have opportunity to play at the state-level games, Sarat Patnak, secretary, KFA said .
