Police team leaves for West Bengal to track suspects

Couple’s daughter arrives from Bihar

Suspects involvement of labour contractor

CUTTACK: The Cuttack city police are yet to make any breakthrough into the Friday night’s double murder case in which a former Air Force personnel and his wife were brutally murdered in their house.

Meanwhile, the couple’s daughter who was studying in Bihar has returned here and believes that the labour contractor who was troubling her parents for last few days might have killed them.

"We are hopeful of making a breakthrough soon into the case as our investigations are progressing in right direction and we have covered a lot of ground", said the investigation police inspector P K Jena.

A police team from Cuttack has already reached a village in West Bengal close to Bangaldesh border tracking the suspects,

Jena said refusing to divulge anything further lest it might hamper the investigations.

The bodies of Arun Kumar Kar (50) and his wife Hena (48) were found lying in a pool of blood in two separate locations of their house at Mahatab Road on Saturday morning.

The couple, hailed from Balasore district, were constructing a new house in the city.

For this they had engaged a labour contractor from West Bengal but later disengaged him due to certain differences, police said.
