Indian Railways has decided to introduce one new weekly super fast express train between Santragachi in West Bengal and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh with inaugural run beginning from Santragachi on Tuesday. The train would reach Tirupati on Wednesday.

The regular run of this train will commence from May 22 from Santragachi and May 23 from Tirupati. The 22855 Santragachi-Tirupati Weekly Super Fast Express would leave Santragachi on every Sunday at 4.05 p.m. and will arrive at Tirupati at 6 p.m. on the next day, according to an East Coast Railway release issued here on Tuesday.

In the return direction, 22856 Tirupati-Santragachi Weekly Super Fast Express would leave Tirupati on every Monday at 7.55 p.m. and will arrive Santragachi at 10.10 p.m. on the following day.

This train has one AC-2 tier, one AC-3tier, seven sleeper class, three general second class and two guard-cum-luggage van coaches in its composition having stoppages at Kharagpur, Jaleswar, Balasore, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Vizianagaram, Duvvada, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Gudur and Renigunta between Santragachi and Tirupati. Similarly, it has been decided to increase the frequency of 12245/12246 Howrah-Yesvantpur-Howrah Duronto Express from four days a week to five days a week from Wednesday.

The ECoR said after increase in frequency, the 12245 Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto express will leave Howrah on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will leave Yesvantpur on every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

According to the railway zone, the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express would have new numbers from September. The 12421/12422 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express will run with its new number as 22811/22812 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express.
