CHANDIGARH: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Kamal Nath has agreed to construct a new Kaithal by-pass which would also include a road over-bridge and a flyover with termination point at Titram More, an official spokesman of the Haryana Government said here on Wednesday.
Mr. Kamal Nath also agreed to sanction a by-pass for Lakhanmajra and Julana Toll on National Highway-71 during a meeting with Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit in New Delhi. The main agenda of the meeting was to strengthen the arteries of the National Capital Region keeping in view the upcoming Commonwealth Games to be hosted by Delhi. Mr. Hooda urged Mr. Kamal Nath to declare a few State highways as National Highways. These include Ambala-Saha, Saha-Sahabad, Uklana-Tohana-Patran, Gurgaon-Jhajjar-Beri-Kalanaur-Meham, Rohtak-Bhiwani-Loharu-Pilani-Rajgarh, Sonepat-Gohana-Jind, Kaithal-Jind and Kaithal-Guhla-Punjab Border.
Mr. Kamal Nath promised to consider the proposals and asked Mr. Hooda to take up the matter with the Planning Commission also.
