Varanasi: Over 300 resident doctors of the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Banaras Hindu University, who had gone on a mass leave demanding implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission, resumed duty after being assured of a hike in their salaries.

“Resident doctors decided to call off the agitation at a general body meeting on Thursday after the university administration promised to pay the arrears before Holi,” Dharmendra Rai, spokesman for the resident doctors, said.
