Munger: A drunken man shot dead a child before being lynched in a village in Bihar’s Munger district, police said on Monday.
Chetan Soren (30), who had come to visit his in-laws at tribal dominated Shampur-Sautari village in Kharagpur sub-division of the district, got drunk on Sunday evening and began firing a country-made revolver. One of the bullets hit five-year-old Suresh Tudu killing him on the spot.
Enraged, the villagers overpowered Soren, pierced him with arrows and bludgeoned him with sticks to death, the police said. The police recovered the revolver and four cartridges from the spot and have sent the bodies for post mortem.
