PUDUCHERRY: Lieutenant Governor Govind Singh Gurjar, Chief Minister V. Vaithilingam and leaders of various political parties have greeted the people on the occasion of Deepavali.

In his message, the Lieutenant Governor said, “On the occasion of Deepavali, the unique festival, celebrated throughout India to signify the triumph of good over evil, I extend my best wishes and heartiest greetings to the people of Puducherry. May the festival of lights, bring in joy and prosperity in the lives of all the people.”

The Chief Minister, in his message, said that this year’s Deepavali was special as scientists had successfully launched India’s maiden mission to moon, Chandrayan 1.

Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Planning V. Narayanasamy and president of Pondicherry Pradesh Congress Committee A.V. Subramanian also greeted the people.
