ICFOSS to work with Open Source communities worldwide

The International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS), an autonomous institution under the Government of Kerala, has unveiled plans to make Kerala a prominent global destination for free software development work.

The centre is preparing to team up with open source communities across the world to train young software developers from Kerala and equip them to contribute to open source projects.

For the pilot programme, ICFOSS has tied up with the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), one of the top global producers of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). ASF will help ICFOSS identify talented developers including students and fresh graduates and mentor them.

The ICFOSS-ASF mentoring programme will provide initial training to a group of students and then help them launch projects with the help of the Apache incubator.
