DEHRA DUN: The higher Himalayan shrine of Kedarnath in Uttarakhand re-opened for darshan amid Vedic chants on Monday for this pilgrimage season. A large number of devotees and officials were present on the occasion.

The Badrinath shrine will re-open on Tuesday, said a spokesman of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee.

The Administration has made elaborate arrangements to make the pilgrimage safe and comfortable and a strict vigil will be kept on reckless driving, said a senior official here.
