CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday declared that the budget of the State for the year 2010-11 would be for the “aam aadmi'' (common man).

Talking to media persons in the press lobby of the Vidhan Sabha here, he further said: “It would also be the biggest-ever budget presented so far in the State Assembly''.

Mr. Hooda asserted that Haryana had the same right on Chandigarh as Punjab had. “Therefore, if Punjab wanted a separate capital, it would be better for it to have it outside Chandigarh,'' he quipped.

Regarding the functioning of “Khap Panchayats” in the State, he said that so far as Haryana was concerned the Government had been abiding by the law as it believed that “law always takes its own course.”
