With the Medical Council of India agreeing to the Odisha government’s proposal to increase the number of MBBS seats in each State-run medical college from 150 to 250, their infrastructure would also be developed. “Since MCI has agreed to increase the number of seats, infrastructure will be developed in all government medical colleges,” Health and Family Welfare Minister Damodar Rout said here on Friday.

The government has made Rs 100 crore budgetary allocation for three medical colleges at Berhampur, Burla and Cuttack this year.
