The eight-day-long festival to showcase important films by national and international filmmakers
Bhopal: The commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh, Indore, will host the first “Global Film Festival” to be organised in the city on the lines of Goa Film Festival from October 8-15.
The eight-day-long festival will showcase important films by national and international filmmakers and will also honour best actor and actresses for their good work.
A meeting in this regard was held here in the presence of State’s Culture and Public Relations Minister Laxmikant Sharma, Culture secretary Manoj Shrivastava and Film Federation of India president Jitendra Jain.
He said that the festival will be organised in the city at par with international film festivals.
The State has number of prominent religious, tourism and natural spots where film making process can be encouraged, Mr. Sharma added.
The Culture secretary has already held a discussion with cinema halls and hotel owners in Indore in this regard and discussed modalities for showcasing the event, the sources added. -- PTI
