Hisar: Two persons were injured and property worth an estimated Rs. 50 lakh was destroyed when a fire broke out at a petrol pump situated on the national highway in Hansi town of Haryana, officials said here on Friday.

The mishap took place when a tanker carrying 20,000 litres of petrol was being emptied into the underground tanks of the petrol pump on Thursday evening. Over 10 fire tenders were pressed into the service which took about four hours to douse the flames. The petrol pump was completely gutted, the police said. Tanker driver Prem and an employee of the petrol pump Ishwar Singh were injured in the incident. -- PTI
