CHANDIGARH: Deepender Singh Hooda, MP from Rohtak, on Monday challenged Congress leaders opposing establishment of special economic zones in Haryana to an "open'' debate.

Addressing a public meeting in Jhajjar district, Mr. Hooda, son of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, claimed that the Government had ushered in rapid development - a fact that was not liked by the Opposition and a few leaders within the Congress. He charged that the INLDpresident O.P. Chautala had recently honoured former Punjab CM P.S.Badal at the Meham rally but it was a reality that the latter was opposing construction of the Hansi-Bhutana Link canal.
