The Haryana Election Department has set-up telephone-based, web-based and SMS-based helplines at headquarter and district levels to facilitate electorate to seek poll-related information and make them come out in large numbers to cast their votes.
The electorate could use these helplines to seek information concerning their name in voter list, serial number and address of polling station. The facility has been made available on telephone numbers 1950 and 1800-180-2047 in all districts. The voters could also get information by texting their voter card number on mobile number 9215156503. Apart from this, information related to casting of votes could also be obtained from website www.ceoharyana.nic.in.
Touch screen-based helpline number service has also been made available in some districts.
Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi has also set-up separate helplines for the four Assembly constituencies in Gurgaon district -- Gurgaon, Sohna, Pataudi and Badshahpur -- for the electorate. He said previous experience had shown that many people do not exercise their franchise only because they are not sure about their names in the electoral rolls or not aware of the booth number and location. The helplines would make such people come out and cast their votes.
The helpline number for Badshahpur is 0124- 2222040, Gurgaon 0124- 2321808. Similarly, for Sohna the helpline number is 0124- 2225042, while for Pataudi the helpline number is 0124- 2672900.
More than 19 lakh electorate, including over nine lakh women, would decide the political fate of 22 candidates in fray from the Gurgaon Parliamentary constituency that comprises nine Assembly segments.
Elaborate security arrangements for the polling day.
Of the total 1,816 polling booths set-up in Gurgaon Parliamentary constituency, spread across three districts, 535 have been declared sensitive and hyper-sensitive.
