Showing no signs of any letup to their ongoing boycott of courts, the lawyers of Orissa High Court on Monday unanimously resolved to continue their strike till Thursday next. The general body of the High Court Bar Association would again meet on that day to take further course of action, including the decision to observe Cuttack bandh, informed the Association secretary Kanmejaya Katakia.

Mr Katakia further informed that a team of lawyers would soon visit New Delhi to submit memorandums to the President of India, the Prime Minister and to the Union Law Minister and urge them to ignore Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s impugned recommendation to set up permanent benches of Orissa High Court in southern and Western Odisha.

Ever since the Chief Minister made the recommendations on September 28, the lawyers of the High Court are on strike boycotting the court proceedings.
