CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has procured 42.66 lakh metric tonnes of wheat so far during the current season while last year the procurement was pegged at 33.50 lakh metric tonnes, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said here on Tuesday. He disclosed that out of the total wheat arrivals of 42.97 lakh metric tonnes, 42.66 lakh metric tonnes were purchased by the agencies at the minimum support price of Rs.1,000 per quintal while 30,839 metric tonnes were purchased by the traders. He said that HAFED had procured 16.11 lakh metric tonnes, the State Food and Supplies Department 8.68 lakh metric tonnes, FCI 6.58 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 3.90 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 3.68 lakh metric tonnes and Confed 3.69 lakh metric tonnes.
