CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has directed all Financial Commissioners and Principal Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and Managing Directors of State Boards and Corporations to seek prior permission of the Election Commission for undertaking any additional work relating to specific programmes and projects.

According to an official spokesman here, this has been done in compliance with instructions of the Election Commission of India regarding applicability of the Model Code of Conduct in force now for the Lok Sabha polls.


The projects include the Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme, the National Social Assistance Programme, the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, the Accelerated Power and Development Reform Programme, the Indira Awas Yojana, the Swaran Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana, the Sampoorna Gramin Rojgar Yojana, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme, the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and Affordable Housing.
