CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has, for the first time, decided to introduce the concept of e-tendering to ensure more transparent and competitive bidding, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here on Wednesday.

He said the Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Department would procure all contracts through e-tenders for the recently sanctioned Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana Phase VII projects.

E-tendering would help in creating an environment in which tender-related corruption would be minimised as human interface would be eliminated to a great extent, he said.

Based on this experience, the procedure would be extended to other works of the PWD (B and R) Department and other departments.

“Registration of properties not banned”

Haryana Chief Secretary Promilla Issar has clarified that registration of properties is not banned anywhere in Haryana, though a “No Objection” certificate is required. She told newsmen there had been a substantial increase in the revenue generated by way of registration in the past two years.
