The rebel Janata Dal (United) member Upendra Kushwaha floated his political outfit, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on Sunday. He had resigned as Rajya Sabha MP last December.
The disgruntled leader had voted in favour of FDI in retail in defiance of his party’s line. He had been unhappy with what he called “the dictatorial attitude” of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
His new party will fight to oust the National Democratic Alliance government in the State, he said. He accused Mr. Kumar of creating a mirage of development and alsocriticised Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav of misleading the people.
