Distribution companies' report would help the state government draw an action plan , says Minister

BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa government has asked all power distribution companies to submit a detailed report on occurrence of power fluctuations within the next seven days.

"Distribution companies will give details of domestic demand and power requirement for upcoming industries," Energy Minister Surya Narayan Patro said here on Monday.

He said Orissa Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) had also been asked to prepare a report on fluctuations and identify crumbling power infrastructure, which could be upgraded.

Based on the OPTCL's report, the State government could consider offer guarantee for availing loan for that purpose, the Minister said.

He said the distribution companies' report would help the state government draw an action plan to do away with fluctuation problem.
