CHANDIGARH: The entire Ellenabad Assembly constituency has been declared highly sensitive and para-military forces would be deployed for conducting free and fair election on January 20. Besides, micro-observers have been appointed at all polling booths, the Central Election Observer, Vinod Agarwal, said on Wednesday.
He disclosed that 170 micro-observers had been appointed of whom 142 would be posted at polling booths and 28 would be kept in reserve. All micro-observers would be officers of the Central Government and of banks, boards and corporations of the Central Government.
The Central observers would keep an eye on the entire election system in the constituency while the micro-observers would keep a watch on their respective polling booths. Sirsa Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Yudhvir Singh Khyaliya said that 27 battalions, including 10 of para-military forces and 12 of Haryana Police would be pressed into service to ensure a free and fair poll.
Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Sumita Misra has directed the District Election Officer of Sirsa to get videography and photography done for each critical event during the campaigning.
