Eight children who had become ill after consuming mid-day meal on Wednesday at their primary school at Gothagaon village of Shergarh block in Ganjam district were admitted in MKCG medical college and hospital in the city on Thursday.
On Wednesday 55 students of this school had developed ailments after consuming the mid-day meal. They had been admitted in Hinjli Community Health Centre (CHC). All of them have been discharged after treatment. But eight of these children again developed ailments after returning home. So, they were brought to MKCG medical college hospital.
Meanwhile, Ganjam district Collector Krishen Kumar visited the centralised kitchen managed by Nandi Foundation, which had provided mid-day meal to the concerned school.
