BHUBANESWAR: East Coast Railway here on Saturday said due to restriction on night running of the trains in Kharagpur-Rourkela and Kharagpur-Adra section during night time from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. some trains had been cancelled, diverted and rescheduled.
It said the 8646 Hyderabad-Howrah East Coast Express leaving Hyderabad on Saturday would remain cancelled.
Trains those have been diverted from their normal routes include the 2876 New Delhi- Puri Neelachal Express, the 2820 New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Samprak Kranti Express and the Guwahati-Chennai Express. Timing of 8409 Howrah-Puri Sri Jagannath Express has been rescheduled. The decisions were taken in wake of derailment of 2102 (Howrah-LTT) Express in between Sarodia-Khemasuli section of Kharagpur Division on Friday. Indian Railway suspected that derailment had taken place as Left wing extremists group had damaged the railway track. Earlier in the morning, bomb scare in Jharsuguda Station caused delay in running of trains. But normalcy was restored after tracking down of low intensity crude bombs on tracks.
