The week-long national multi-lingual drama festival will he held at Rabindra Mandap here from Tuesday.

The event is being hosted by the city-based three-decade-old theatre organisation Satabdira Kalakara .

Briefing media about the event, festival director and dramatist Dhira Mallick said the annual festival would feature plays in Hindi, Bengali, Odia, and the tribal language of Santali. The inaugural evening would kick off with Odia play Suryasta Purbaru by host Satabdira Kalakara followed by Bengali play Dedha Paisara Pala by Howrah Anuvash troupe from West Bengal on Wednesday, Hindi play Ye Admi Hai Chuhe by a Bhopal-based troupe on Thursday, Santali play Phagun Pata by a troupe from Rairangapur on Friday and Hindi play Madhavi by a Mumbai-based troupe on Saturday.

Similarly, Saturday would witness Bengali play Sandhya Sare Chhata by a troupe from Kolkata while curtains would come down on the festival on Sunday with the Odia play Klanta Basundhara by Swasti Jhankara troupe from Rourkela, Mallick said.
